How We Approach Pool Surrounds
Surface temperature, slip resistance, drainage and how the material feels underfoot all matter more around a pool than anywhere else on the property. Travertine, bluestone, porcelain pavers and textured concrete pavers each behave differently in full August sun — we'll show you samples in place before you choose.
Coping detail sets the visual line of the pool. Bullnose, square-edge and cantilever profiles change the whole read of the water. We coordinate coping, waterline tile and deck field so the edges are deliberate.
Beyond the deck, surrounds usually need retaining or seat walls, steps, an equipment screen, a shower, planting beds to soften the hardscape, and drainage that carries splash-out and stormwater away from the house.
